Dave was born on May 23, 1939 in Kalamazoo, MI, the son of Delphin and Ruth Furney. He was a graduate of Kalamazoo Central High School, served in the United States Army and retired from Western Electric. Dave moved to Luther, MI in 2001 and enjoyed his acreage, gardening and the surrounding wildlife. Dave is survived by his three sons, Michael Furney (fiance, Mely Garcines) of Columbus, OH, Todd Furney (Mariana Romano) of Chicago, IL and Matthew (Sarah) Furney of Ortonville, MI. He is also survived by one granddaughter, Leah Mae Romano Furney. Dave is survived by two brothers, Irving Furney of Harrison, MI and Craig (Martha) Furney of Kalamazoo and several nieces. Everyone was very special to him. A private interment service will be held on April 25, 2008 at Great Lakes National Cemetery. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 4/8/2008.
