"Nat" Of Kalamazoo Mr. Minsley passed away early Monday morning, April 14, 2008 at the Springs at Bronson Place. He was born May 5, 1911 in Brooklyn, NY, one of seven children to Israel and Bessie Minsky. On June 14, 1945, he was united in marriage to Belle Berkowitz in Brooklyn, NY. Nat is survived by his wife, Belle Minsley; two sons, Jack (Judy) Minsley of Lakewood, IL, and Bruce (Diane) Minsley of Kalamazoo; three grandchildren, Rebecca Jo (Dave Gulisano) Minsley of Madison, WI, Joshua (Rebecca) Minsley of St. Paul, MN, and Burke (Caron) Minsley of Boulder, CO; three great-grandchildren, Jonah, Samuel and Evalyn; and two close nieces, Jane (Ed) Korsberg of Solon, OH, and Diane (Allan) Shatzman of King of Prussia, PA. Nat was an officer and veteran of the United States Army Medical Corps serving five years during World War II and stationed in both North Africa and Italy. He then served in the Army Reserve for about 15 years, earning the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Nat was a graduate of Lon! g Island University, and attended both University of Michigan and Michigan State University earning a Masters Degree in Public Health. He was employed by the VA Medical Centers for 30 years in both Bath, NY, and then Buffalo, NY until his retirement in 1977. Nat was an accomplished artist who loved to paint landscapes and birds. Funeral services for Mr. Minsley will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Rabbi Harvey Spivak officiating. Interment will follow in Jewish Riverside Cemetery.
