Of Ft. Myers, FL Formerly of Kalamazoo Passed away March 25, 2008, in Ft. Myers. Bob was born June 17, 1924, in Kalamazoo, the son of Audley and Edna (Dunn) Summerville. Bob joined the U.S. Army July 9, 1943. He was seriously wounded while in Salerno, Italy, receiving a purple heart and bronze star. Bob married Shirley Sanderson December 19, 1943. They celebrated 50 years of marriage in 1993. Shirley passed away November 27, 1994. Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Summerville and Sandra (Dick) Cooey, both of Florida; two sons, Robert (Lois) Summerville, of Paw Paw and Randy (Carol) of Gobles. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Bob was preceded in death by brothers, Edward, Milo, Gale and sisters, Frances, Edith and Nellie. Also surviving are a brother, Dale (Betty) Summerville of Muskegon and a sister, Jean (Eugene) Brink. Burial with Full Military Honor Services will be held Monday, March 31, 2008 at 11 AM at Lee Memorial Park, Lehigh Acres, Florida. ! Arrangements provided by Lee Memorial Park, Lehigh Acres, Florida.
