She was born April 15, 1931 in Charleston, WV, to John D. and Eugenia Haller Moles. She is survived by her husband, Thomas L. Ayres of Delong, IN; son, Robert P. Simmons of Decatur, MI; his three children, Althea Simmons and Nathaniel Simmons of Kalamazoo, MI and Billie Mae Simmons of Colorado Springs, CO. Also sons, Daniel E. (Linda) Simmons of North Branford, CT and John M. (Karla) Simmons of Plymouth, IN; step-son, Thomas L. (Tye) Ayres, Jr. of Frankfort, IN; two sisters, Hilda (Bernard) Hall of Mt. Hope, WV, Verna Kay Hicks of Melbourne, FL; three brothers, John Moles of California, Hiram Moles of Georgia, Gary Moles of West Virginia and 10 more grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
