Of Mission, TX Formerly of West KL Avenue, Kalamazoo, MI Passed away March 24, 2008 at Mission Hospital. Forrest was born March 8, 1928 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, to Jess and Maude (Munson) Root. On November 19, 1949, he was united in marriage to Barbara Schell. From this union they had one daughter, Toni Ann. Forrest retired from James River Corp. in October of 1990 after 38 years of service. Forrest served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was recalled during the Korean Conflict. After retiring, he and Barbara spent their winters in Mission, TX, moving there permanently in 2001. Forrest loved working in his workworking shop making gifts for others. Survivors include his wife, Barbara of almost 59 years; two grandchildren, Troy and Nikki; three great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Forrest was preceded in death by his daughter, Toni Ann, in 1990; oldest granddaughter, Echol "Echo", in 1992; his parents; seven brothers and two sisters. Funeral arrangements by Ric Brown Family Funeral Home in Mission TX. Cremation h! as taken place. There will be no memorial service.
