Of Gilbertsville, KY Formerly of Kalamazoo/ Vicksburg, MI Passed away Sunday, March 30, 2008 at Lourdes Hospital, Paduach, KY after a brief illness. Born August 23, 1949 in Kalamazoo, MI. Preceded in death by parents, James Eugene (Gene) and Betty Eileen (Garske) Chandler. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Loy Norrix High School. Also attended Western Michigan University. For the last 17 years, he was a supervisor for West Lake PVC in Calvert City, KY. Before that he worked locally for H.B. Fuller and Simpson Paper. On September 28, 1974, he was united in marriage to his wife, Nancy S. (Williams) Chandler, who survives. Also surviving are daughter, Carrie (Shane) Coomer of Possum Trot, KY; sons, Andrew Chandler of Groton, Conn, Patrick Chandler of Gilbertsville, KY; sister, Lynda Cutler of Kalamazoo, MI; brothers, Michael (Jan) Chandler of Kentwood, MI, Dennis (Carol) Chandler of Portage, MI; aunt, Vivian Chandler of Portage, MI; mother-in-law, Sarah Williams of Calvert City, KY; several nieces and nephews. In! terests included: cooking, hunting and fishing. Former board member and hunter safety instructor with the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club. He loved Northern Michigan, it held special place in his heart, specifically the family cabin - "The Gates of Heaven" - near Mancelona, MI. Cremation has taken place and a reunion of family and friends will be held later this summer. Memorial contributions to: the American Heart Association, American Cancer Society or the Kalamazoo Rod & Gun Club Youth Hunter Safety Class. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 4/13/2008.
