Age 79 Of Battle Creek Formerly of Gull Lake and Grass Lake, Illinois Died Saturday, April 12, 2008 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born July 24, 1928, the son of Raymond and Ruth (Kettlehutt) Pregenzer in Antioch, Illinois. Jerry served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Rochester as an electrician from 1948 to 1952. He attended the University of Illinois and graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1957 and worked as manager of Marketing Services for Eaton Corporation in Battle Creek, retiring in June, 1985. He is survived by his son, Jeffrey F. (Jennifer) Pregenzer of Kalamazoo; daughter, Jan (David) Young of Royal Oak; grandchildren, Adelina and Marie Pregenzer and Michaela and Ryan Young and sister, Judy Borden of Encino, California. He was married to Joan E. Melges from 1957-1973, she survives. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Patricia Fitzwater. Jerry was a member of the National Rifle Association, Ducks Unlimited and Battle Creek Gun Club. He enjoyed working in his yard, bird watching, creating waterfowl nesti! ng areas around his home, hunting, fishing, boating and hydroplanes. Jerry was an opera and classical music enthusiast. Family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM Wednesday, April 16, 2008 at Shaw Funeral Home 2838 Capital Ave., SW, Battle Creek www.shawfuneralhome.com Services will take place at 11:00 AM Thursday, April 17, 2008 at the funeral home with Rev.
