He was born June 2, 1959 in Saginaw. Ken was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in and loved construction. Surviving are his four children, Cara (age 23), (Michael) Kemp of Allegan, Kendra Martin (age 14) of Kalamazoo, Theodore Martin (age 9) of Kalamazoo and Destiny Trainer (age 3) of Kalamazoo; one granddaughter, Sara Kemp (age 2); five brothers & sisters, Robin (Jim) Lewis, Patty (Rich) Williams, Kathleen (Drew) Fritts, Karl, Jr. (Marylee) Gawne, Michelle Gawne; step-father, Karl Gawne, Sr.; his two special women, Teddie Martin and Mary Farrell; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceding him in death were his mother, Carol (Cox) Gawne; his father, James Martin and one brother, James Martin. Visitation will be from 5-8 PM on Friday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. Funeral services will be at 2 PM on Saturda! y at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 PM on Tuesday at St. Helen Catholic Church, 737 N. Saint Helen Rd, St. Helen, MI and friends may visit from 11 AM until the time of services on Tuesday at the church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, St. Helen.
