Sr. Kalamazoo Went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 13, 2010. Rodney was born on June 3, 1935, the son of the late Howard and Marguerite Cornell. He served his country in the Army and was honorably discharged. In the spring, while in Florida, he married his wife Katherine "Irene" (Smith) Cornell who survives. He was employed as a painter, and was a handy man who could fix almost anything. He enjoyed working on cars, traveling, and spending time with family. He was a passionate and loving husband, father, and friend who will be missed. He is also survived by two children, Rodney (Ramoa Finley) Cornell Jr. and Nancy (Kenneth) Mills; ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; three brothers, James (Lilijana) Cornell, Alan (Ericka) Cornell and William (Carol) Cornell; a sister, Janet (Ralph) Boughton; a brother-in-law, Raymond Eagly; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Cornell; a brother and sister-in-law, Keith (Gracie) Cornell; a sister a! nd brother-in-law, Betty (Ted) Socha and a sister Barb Eagly. A visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2010, from 5-7 PM with a service at the funeral home on Friday, Jan. 22, 2010, at 10:30 AM with Pastor Ron Slager officiating.
