"Bev" Age 71 Vicksburg, MI Died unexpectedly, Sunday morning, January 24, 2010, at her residence. Beverly was born on May 30, 1938 in Kalamazoo, MI and was the daughter of Jacob and Myrtle (Karau) Sturman. She was employed at General Motors of Kalamazoo as a machine operator and was a member of the UAW. Bev was an extremely gifted and talented artist in any project she undertook. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of the fish pond in her gardens. On April 21, 1980 in Kalamazoo, Bev was united in marriage to Norman Frank Hogaboom, who preceded her in death on October 3, 2009. Surviving are her two daughters, Debra M. (Craig) Mumy of Richland, MI and Michele L. (Denny) Batten of Muncie, IN; Norm's children, Robin (Don) Smith of Vicksburg, Penny (Tony) Rich of PA and Randy (Carol) Hogaboom of Galesburg, MI; 13 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Stolk of Bradenton, FL and Nadine (Dick) VanDam of Kalamazoo and her brother, Phillip (Peggy) Sturman of Millinocket, ME. Bev was! preceded in death by her parents, her son, Michael W. Bingham and a brother, Jack Sturman. Memorial visitation will be held on today, Wednesday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the FARLEY-ESTES & DOWDLE Funeral Home Richland Chapel 9170 East D Avenue A private, family graveside service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions in Bev's honor may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, in care of the funeral home.
