He was born October 4, 1926 in Kalamazoo, to the late Clair and Gertrude(Schreickert) Parkhurst. Harry and Betty Jean Karling were married on November 27, 1947. Betty survives. Harry was a very good man, lived a long and full life. He was a good father and loving partner to Betty. He loved and adored his children with equal giving, Sharon Morris of Kalamazoo, Lynn (Randy Gray) Parkhurst of Three Rivers, and Kirk (JoAnn) Parkhurst of Kalamazoo. Also preceding him in death was a sister and a brother. Above all, he loved Betty with care and devotion. Harry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII, from early 1944 until honorably discharged in late 1945. Betty and children would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers. Cremation has taken place and he will be laid to rest at Fort Custer National Cemetery. As are his and Betty's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services.
