Tom was born October 16, 1948 in Kalamazoo to William and Patricia Henry. He grew up in Oakwood and graduated from Loy Norrix High School. A long time resident of Schoolcraft, he owned and operated Production Tooling, a business he started and built into a success. His achievements gave Tom and Karen the opportunity to travel, but his favorite was always the "One Happy Island", Aruba. There they found the serenity, peace and friendliness that they so enjoyed. They built their dream house and visited several times a year. Tom was an avid collector of 45 records and had amassed a collection in the thousands. He also had a passion for Corvettes which he enjoyed restoring. Bowling was replaced by his golf addiction, which he eased at Olde Mill. His love of nature, music and his family will never be forgotten. Those unfortunate to lose him are his parents Pat and Bil! l of Kalamazoo; his loving wife, Karen; two daughters, Michelle Nuyen of Mattawan and Nicole (Michael) Galiger of Chapel Hill, NC; and a stepson, Jim (Brooke) Morrison of Hastings; eight grandchildren, Brandon and Courtney Nuyen, Jacob, Justin and Ethan Galiger, Jordan, Kirsten and Raegan Morrison will all miss their Grumpy Grandpa; his sister, Janet (Pete) Keinath of Riverview, Florida will keep him close in her heart with the memories of his smile and gentle hands; a nephew, Alan Reitler of Naples, FL. He had a special grandson, Roderick in Aruba. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jack Nuyen and two infant siblings, Janice and Michael. Services will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. with Pastor Suzanne Kornowski of the Oshtemo United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Friends may meet the family on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM and one hour before the service on ! Tuesday at the funeral home.
