"Spike" Portage, MI Died Wednesday morning December 30, 2009. Spike was born February 12, 1948 in Allegan, Michigan a son of Harold and Laura (Stratton) Young. Spike grew up in Allegan and later moved to Kalamazoo where he has lived most of his life. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Harriet and Susan. He is survived by a sister, Sharon Roberts of Ward, CO; and his extended family at the Osterhout Home, Kalamazoo Community Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services, and Borgess Hospice. Services will be held 10 o'clock Tuesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service. Private burial will take place in Kendall Cemetery at a later date.
