Age 79 Of Augusta Kenneth E. Mills, age 79, of Augusta, died September 11, 2010. Ken was born May 25, 1931 in Battle Creek to Harry and Hazel (VanAllen) Mills. Ken graduated from Augusta High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Ken married Martha Smith in 1965 in Augusta. The couple enjoyed 45 years of happy marriage. Ken worked at Clark Equipment for 28 years, before his retirement in 1983. He then worked as a security guard for Pinkerton Security. Ken is survived by his wife, Martha; two daughters, Vicki (Phil) Lanuti of Ann Arbor and Brenda (David) Green of Whitmore Lake; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Ken was preceded in death by his son, Brian S. Wood. At the request of the family, friends may call Monday, September 13, 2010 from 6 to 8 PM at the FARLEY-ESTES & DOWDLE FUNERAL HOME AUGUSTA CHAPEL where funeral services will be held Tuesday, at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Augusta Cemetery with full military honors. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the Augusta Library.
