She was born on May 3, 1967 in Kalamazoo; MI. Kristy was united in marriage to the love of her life Dale Ekema on October 14, 1989. They have eight beautiful children; Jessica, Courtney, Nathan, Elizabeth, Joshua, Rebecca, Daniel and Noah. She graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School in 1985. She served her country proudly in the Navy. She was a jeweler with Premier Designs for eight years. She served actively at Granger Community Church with her family. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband and eight children; her mom, Darlene (David) Boeskool; her in-laws, Bernard and Clarissa Ekema; two brothers and one sister, Richard (Debra) Hamming, Deborah (Daniel) Braun, Don (Anna) Hamming; two brother-in-laws and one sister-in-law, Bob Ekema, Les (Linda) Ekema, Kathy (Randy) First; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and! many friends. She is preceded in death by her father, Donald Hamming Sr. There will be a celebration of life service on Monday, September 13th at 2pm at Granger Community Church, 630 E. University Dr. Granger, IN 46530. In lieu of flowers, a memorial can be givin to the family to help with medical expenses.
