"Bill" Portage Passed away Saturday, September 11, 2010. Bill was born October 17, 1921 in Lawton, MI the son of Harry L. and Anna Elizabeth (Linders) Williams and was a lifelong resident of this area. He proudly served his country during WW II in the United States Navy. When he returned home, he worked for Brinks Armored Company and retired from Cadillac Overall Supply. On August 13, 1948, he married Beverly Elliott, who survives. Also surviving are Bill's children, Jeffrey (Jane) Williams of MS, Eileen Ewing of CA, Diane (Dennis) Simon of Kalamazoo, Michael (Patty) Williams of SC, Karen (Steven) Barber of Lake City and John (Teea) Williams of Fulton; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Anna Mae LaGore, Betty (Paul) Spencer and Fannie (Robert) Kutz. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. The family will receive friends at the fun! eral home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. Interment will take place in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Kairos Dwelling.
