Mary was born May 30, 1914 in Kalamazoo, a daughter of Marinus and Nellie (Lemmers) Schrier and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of Covenant United Reformed Church. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Neil VanDalen on February 25, 2002, by both sons, Henry VanDalen and Dr. Donald VanDalen and by several brothers and sisters. Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Barbara VanDalen of Kalamazoo and Maureen VanDalen of Crescent City, FL; eight grandchildren, Bill and Debra Bytwork, Chuck and Laura Kos, Rod and Sandra Luchies, Dennis and Amy VanDalen, Jody and Kimbra Holling, Aaron VanDalen, Donya VanDalen and Timothy Shea; 20 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Ruth VanDalen of Kalamazoo; several nieces and nephews. Friends may meet the family on Wednesday evening from 5-7 PM, where services will held at 7 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. 343! -1508 Private interment in Riverside Cemetery. Memorial contributions in Mary's memory may be made to Covenant United Reformed Church or the charity of your choice.
