He was born March 22, 1940 to the late Harry and Elsie Preston. James was preceded in death by a son, Robert Preston; a sister, Mae Henderson and twin brothers, Ray and Roy Preston. He leaves behind his beloved wife of almost 49 years, Beverly; their loving children: Anita Russell, Daniel Preston, Patricia Preston, Diane (Bradley) Bender and Thomas Preston; his grandchildren who referred to him as "Bumpa": Kristen Russell, Brittany Preston, Joseph and Cameron Russell, Hannah, Katelynn and Charlee Bender; one great granddaughter, Destiny Lee, whom he loved and cherished. Also surviving are two sisters: Betty Morris and Joan Thompson; two brothers: John (Bonnie) Preston and Bill (Sue) Preston; Beverly's brothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 PM on Friday, September 10, 2010 at REDMOND 4100 S. Westnedge Ave (269) 343-6156 Chaplain Theda McBryde officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Care of S.W. Michigan.
