Isabelle was born May 14, 1919 in Paw Paw, MI, the daughter of the late Jim and Harriet (Stevens) Jillson. She graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1937 and attended Western Michigan University. She married Leonel Alves on November 6, 1953 in Angola, Indiana. She worked as a cashier at Western Michigan University, retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints Church. Isabelle is survived by her husband, Leo Alves of Irons; son, Roger (Marilyn) Roman of Irons; two daughters, Loralee Allen of Louisville, IL and Lisa Marie (George) Reese of Vicksberg, MI; seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place at Oak Grove Cemetery in Manistee. Memorial services will be scheduled at a later date. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements to Oak Grove Cremation Center in Manistee. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 3/7/2008.
