Robert was born November 8, 1921 in Portland Oregon, the son of Stafford L. and Nellie S. (Whitehead) Osborne. Robert was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Parchment. As a member of the American Legion, Robert often volunteered at Bingo games in Allegan. He was also an avid runner and enjoyed traveling. Robert is preceded in death by a sister, Muriel McIntire. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley (Katead), whom he married in April of 1990; also by sons, Geoffrey, Robert and Michael Osborne; daughters, Barbara McDonell, Donna Mehring, JoAnn Malloy and Sandy Osborne, a sister, Winifred Kamm; several step-children; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 2, 2008 from 6-8 PM at PARCHMENT-REDMOND Funeral Home 2300 East "G" Ave-349-7735 where a Rosary will be recited at 6 PM. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 10:30 AM at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Fr. James O'Leary, celebrant. Interment will be in Ft. Custer National Cemetery.
