Of Portage, MI Died Tuesday evening, March 11, 2008. Beryl was born December 17, 1919 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, a son of Frank and Emily (Blanchard) Geren. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Hammond Machinery for 20 years before retiring. He also worked at Sears years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Elma (Fetters) Geren on June 6, 1988; two brothers and a sister. On August 22, 1998, he was united in marriage to Helen A. (Geiger) Geren, who survives. Also surviving, three children, Lynda (Richard) Wetherbee of Clarksville, TN, Patricia (Thomas) Dingman of Portage, and Dave Geren, Sr. of Portage; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11 o'clock Saturday at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Private burial will take place at a later date.
