She was born on July 9, 1919 in Potterville, MI the daughter of Harry and Bernice (Corbin) Maurer. She was married to Harry Robert Paradine in 1948 until his death in 1976. In 1989 she was remarried to Lawrence Watts who passed away on February 26, 2008. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Wotalewicz; two sisters, Florence Shilling and Ruth Keyesl; She is survived by her son, David (Sue) Paradine; her daughter, Sarah Paradine; three grandsons, Robert, Mark and Michael Paradine; three granddaughters, Sarah Jeltema, Barbara Benson, and Catherine Wotalewicz; two step grandchilren, Jody Pyne and Brian Mosher; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Millie Williams; a son-in-law, Daniel Wotalewicz; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend and angel on earth, Rose Schumacher. Kathryn was a long time member of the First United Methodist Church on Park St. She was a proud American w! ho was often involved in political arenas. She was also an avid gardener who loved working in her yard. Burial has taken place in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. A Memorial service will be held 1 o'clock Wednesday, March 5, 2008 at First United Methodist Church, 212 S. Park St., with Rev. Sandy Elfring officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, and to Hospice of S.W. Michigan. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 3/4/2008.
