"Bud" Of Cooper Twp. Passed away on March 1, 2008. Born July 17,1923 in Dowagiac, MI. son of Mark and Florace Stockwell. He was a WWII Veteran and served his country from 1941-1947, during which time he served on the USS Hornet. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the great outdoors. His greatest passion was deer hunting in the U.P. which he hunted for the past 60 consecutive years. In his later years he also enjoyed riding his Harley. He was employed by Allied Paper as a pipefitter for 23 years. He then served as Cooper Township Constable and Building Inspector. In 1965 he was honored as Michigan Constable of the year. He was a Lifetime member of the Masons, NRA and H.O.G.'s. Bud is survived by his wife, Charlotte Jean (Geisler) of 63 years of marriage. Also surviving are his five children, Barney (Fran) Stockwell, Bruce Stockwell, Mark Stockwell of CA, Nancy (Marv) Nap, and Lori (Eric) Cleasby; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. At his request there will be no visita! tion and cremation has taken place. The famly will have a private memorial service at a later date. Published in the Kalamazoo Gazette on 3/4/2008.
