Of Kalamazoo Went to be with The Lord Friday, March 14, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. Garey was born February 27, 1951 in Kalamazoo, to Carmen and JoAnne Guarisco. Garey was united in marriage to Sheila Chesworth in Grand Rapids, October 16, 1994, who survives him. Garey served his country as a Vietnam Veteran, until honorably discharged in 1972. He loved his family and the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed woodworking in his shop. Garey is survived by his children, Ashley Elkins of Rochester, MN and Michael (Melissa) Elkins of Bellingham, WA; his mother; brothers, Dan (Brenda) Guarisco and Steve Guarisco; sisters, Linda Guarisco and Cathy (Ed) Overhiser and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father. Family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 19th from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, Kalamazoo . Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 o'clock at the First Chur! ch of the Nazarene, 5625 Oakland Dr., Portage, Pastor Douglas McVay, officiating.
