Of Parchment Passed away Sunday, March 2, 2008. Duane was born November 25, 1931 in South Haven, the son of Raymond H. and Martina (Greenman) Cummins and had been a lifelong resident of the area. For over 30 years, he and his wife, Florence, were members of the Church of God Family Worship Center and devoted their lives to lead people to the Lord. Duane and Florence were active in the jail ministry, the Forgotten Man's Ministry in Kalamazoo, and were members of the CMA, the Christian Motorcycle Association. After Duane's health began to fail, Florence remained active as a counselor and mentor in the Boys and the Girls Boot Camp Programs in Battle Creek, but her main ministry was caring for Duane. In addition to the CMA, Duane loved animals, hunting, fishing, camping and all children, especially the babies. In 1956, Duane married Florence Wescott and she preceded him in death just one month ago on February 1, 2008. Duane is survived by their children; Paulette Ray Cummins, Jeffrey John C! ummins and Robin Lucille Mihalek and her husband, Frank; seven grandchildren, Jamie and his wife, Brandi, Larry and his fiancé, Jessica and Sarah Tyler, Marcie and Nina (Ninabug) Mihalek, Christian Cummins and Charles Vogel; a god-daughter, Dawn Jarrett; 11 great-grandchildren, Phillip, Steven, Thorn, Lillian Florence, Dustin, Tori, Sebastian, Paris, Jase, Gauge and Dallas; a sister, Beverly Lewis; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Richard Cummins; and a half-brother, Robert Wiese. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday at 11:00 AM in the Church of God Family Worship Center, 5841 East H Avenue with Pastor Edward Lane Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick St. on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
