Of Portage Passed away March 18, 2008 at Tendercare of Portage. Wilma was born July 2, 1925 in Comstock, MI, the daughter of Jacob and Katherine (Slager) Dey and was a lifelong resident of the Kalamazoo area. She graduated from Kalamazoo Christian High School and was employed at Gilmore's Department Store and later at the Upjohn Company. She was a member of the Lakeland Reformed Church where she served as a Stephen's Minister for 10 years. Wilma loved traveling and camping and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Sparks in 1985 and preceded by a son, Ronald Sparks. Surviving are three children, Janet Willey, Susan Sparks of Portage and Marilyn (Scott) Mosher of Portage; five grandchildren, Cameron Wiley, Gerard Wiley, Kathryn Mosher, Niki Sparks and Kenny Sparks; several great-grandchildren and cousins. Services will be held at 11:00 o'clock Saturday at Lakeland Reformed Church with the Rev. Ed Schmidt and the Rev. Michael Drew, offici! ating. A luncheon will follow at the church with a private committal service to follow at Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery. Friends may meet the family Friday from 4-7 PM at the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Memorial contributions in Wilma's memory may be made to the Kalamazoo Gospel Mission, First Reformed Church of Portage or the Lakeland Reformed Church.
