Died on February 29, 2008 at White Oaks Assisted Living. Dr. Brennan was born on January 22, 1915 in Gary, IN the daughter of John A. and Dorothy (Phelan) Brennan. Dr. Brennan was a graduate of Western Michigan University where she later taught for 13 years. She received a Doctoral Degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Master's Degree from Columbia University. She completed additional work at Northwest University and Michigan State University, having thirty-seven years in teaching and Vocational Education in Home Economics; including having taught at Cornell University, University of Iowa, Mary Grove College, Pennsylvania State University, Michigan Department of Public Instruction and Western Michigan University. Dr. Brennan also worked as a consultant in Real Estate, Nutrition and Public Relations for National Millers Wheat Flower Institute, Dairy Council, and Kellogg Corporation. Since her retirement she was active in Loaves & Fishes, St. Augustine Cathedral, Re! d Cross, and the Hospitality House Family Environment. Dr. Brennan is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Lenora) Desaufels of Seminole, FL and Mrs. William (Rita) Farrell of Kalamazoo, MI; a brother-in-law, Paul Weaver of Kalamazoo, MI; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edward (Suzanne) Brennan of Paw Paw, MI and numerous nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, March 7, 2008 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church at 11:30 AM with Msgr. William Fitzgerald as the celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the needs of students as decided by the Pastor at St. Thomas More Student Parish. Envelopes will be available at the church.
