Kalamazoo Nick passed away peacefully on February 28, 2008, with his family at his side. Nick looked forward to meeting his heavenly Father, and being reunited with his wife of fifty-one years Bonnie (Samis), who preceded him in death in 2006. Left to cherish his memory are his children: Bruce (Deb Johnson) Vicol, Kim (Terry) Nordquist, Terry (Rob) Knapp, Nancy (Scott) Keyes, nineteen grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Nick was also preceded in death by his parents and five siblings. A Korean War veteran, Nick was awarded the Purple Heart. He was Past Commander of the VFW Post 422 in Delton, and a member of the American Legion Post in Hickory Corners. He loved camping and fishing. His garden, which he was very proud of, was the only garden in miles with no weeds. The family will receive friends, Monday, 5:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Williams-Gores Funeral Home, in Delton, where funeral services will be conducted, Tuesday, March 4, 2008, 1:00 PM, Pastor Michael Eleveld, officiati! ng. Interment with military honors will take place at East Hickory Corners Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society or VFW Post 422, will be appreciated.
