She was born June 13, 1960 in Okolona, MS, the daughter of Elizabeth and Robert HUGHES. Era confessed her hope in Christ at an early age in Okolona, MS. She moved to Kalamazoo, MI, in 1974, and became a member of Second Baptist Church, and later joined Faith Temple church of God. She was employed at Borgess Medical Center and attended Davenport College. She was also the proud mother of two sons.
