(GEARHART) THOMAS - 2920 Crystral [sic] Lane, age 87, Died Wednesday afternoon, October 16, 1996. Mrs. THOMAS was born October 12, 1909 in Arlington, SD, the daughter of Emil and Anna (OLSON) WETERBERG. She married Phil GEARHART on December 22, 1934, and together they owned and operated Phil's Supply Store in Marcellus for 20 years. She was later employed by Perrone Company of Walled Lake as an executive secretary. Phil preceded her in death on January 24, 1957. Myrtle married Floyd LIGHT October 8, 1960, who preceded her in death on November 14, 1964. She then married Homer THOMAS March 11, 1967 who preceded her in death on December 22, 1990. She was a member of the Oakwood United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Olympia Chapter, #274, O.E.S. Surviving are 2 daughters, Elizabeth and William DEE of Apache Junction, AZ, Carole and James RANSBOTTOM of Marcellus; one son, Richard and Alice GEARHART of St. Cloud, FL; 5 grandchildren, james and ! Sue RANSBOTTOM of Schoolcraft, Virginia RANSBOTTOM of Marcellus, Bob GEARHART of Marcellus, Bob GEARHART of Seattle, WA, Susan GEARHART and Kathy and Mathew BLATTMAN, all of Reno, NV; 4 great-grandchildren; one sister Rachel TRIPANIER of Waukegan, IL; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson John RANSBOTTOM; 2 brothers and 2 sisters. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday at the Langeland Portage Chapel 411 E. Centre Ave. A Trust 100 Chapel with Pastor Bud Buchner officiating. Cremation has taken place with interment in South Portage Cemetery following the service. The family will meet friends beginning one hour before the service.
