Portage, MI Went to be with the Lord Thursday afternoon January 24, 2008 at her residence. Mary was born June 21, 1921 in Comstock, Michigan, the daughter of Floyd and Ruth (Baughman) Harbeson. She had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and was employed with Sabos Food Service for 18 years at GMC before retiring. Mary enjoyed knitting, her little dog Dutchess and watching the evening boats come in on Austin Lake. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her former husband. On June 27, 1953, she was united in marriage to Alfred S. Boelman who survives. Also surviving, is her son Michael Cohen of Hilliard, OH; a brother, Thomas Harbeson of Portage; brothers-in-law, Jerry Boelman of Parchment and Steve (Shirley) Boelman of Kalamazoo; sisters-in-law, Edna Dolhay of Kalamazoo and Ann Vermeulen of Kalamazoo, and very special friends whom she loved dearly, Kriss (Carl) Swinehart of Manton, MI; Jason Swinehart of Kalamazoo; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Services will be h! eld 10:30 Tuesday from the Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the chapel. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery.
