TRIESTRAM - Kalamazoo, MI, Died Friday morning December 5, 1997 at his residence. Mr. TRIESTRAM was born March 19, 1916 in Kalamazoo, Michigan a son of Herman and Elsie (BENTHIN) TRIESTRAM. During WWII, he served with the U.S. Navy as a radio technician. He had been a lifelong Kalamazoo area resident and owned Triestram Appliance Store for 45 years before his retirement. In 1939, he received a Bachelors Degree of Science from Western Michigan University. He was a member of the Kalamazoo Country Club for 40 years, Kalamazoo Downtown Lions Club for 50 years, and attended Zion Lutheran Church. He also was a Past President of the Kalamazoo School Board and Past Vice Mayor of the Kalamazoo City Commission. In May 1944, he was united in marriage to Idean (BIRKHOLD) TRIESTRAM who survives. Also surviving, a son, David TRIESTRAM of Kalamazoo; a grandson, Adam of Rochester, MI; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held 3 o'clock Tuesday from the Lan! geland Family funeral Homes Memorial Chapel 622 S. Burdick St. with Pastor Louis Grother officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday. Interment will be in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery.
