Of Kalamazoo Mr. Bump passed away Monday morning, January 28, 2008 at Borgess-PIPP Hospital in Plainwell. He was born February 19, 1932 in Hastings, one of three children to the late Clarence and Myrtle (Cheeseman) Bump. Clarence was employed by General Motors Co. for over 25 years, until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing, woodworking, and was a great fan of the Kalamazoo K-Wings and Detroit Red Wings Hockey. On August 19, 1955, Clarence was united in marriage to Wilma Service in Hastings, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Cheri (Brett VerMeulen) Whitney of Kalamazoo, Robin (Mike) Harrison of Marcellus, Tamara (Jody Reynolds) Kemp of Kalamazoo, and Christine (Todd) Turcotte of Battle Creek; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothy Cappon of Woodland; one brother, Duane (Ann Marie) Bump of Woodland and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death are his parents; one son-in-law, David Kugler, Sr.; and two gr! eat-granddaughters, Jordan Head and Makynzie Perkins. Funeral services for Clarence will be at 10:30 AM on Thursday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick Street, with Rev. Danny Janes, officiating. Interment will follow in Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday (tomorrow) at the funeral home.
