Of Allendale, MI Formerly of Kalamazoo, MI Age 82 Passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008. George was born October 5, 1925 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorothy June (Bush) Weed, his parents, Asa W. and Kathryn (England) Weed, and his sister and brother-in-law, Marge (Robert) Frey. He is survived by his wife, Rose Weed; children Terry (John) VanderPloeg, William (Teresa) Weed, Linda Weed, Carol (Charles) Laning; step-children David (Diane) Davidson and Denise Sieb; 15 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother Eugene "Bud" Weed of Manistee, MI, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. George was a veteran of WW II and Korea. He retired from the US Army after 20 years of service. A memorial service will be held at the Memorial Alternatives Chapel on Friday, January 25, 2008 at 11 AM. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service at the Memorial Alternatives Chapel, 2432 Fuller, NE, Grand Rapids, MI, telephone 616-363-3700, website www.memorialalternatives.com.
