Of Kalamazoo Mrs. Ames passed away Monday evening, January 21, 2008 at Bronson Methodist Hospital. She was born March 11, 1918 in Crystal Valley, MI, one of five children to Ira and Mabel (Ruggles) Fuller. Mrs. Ames was employed by Western Michigan University as the secretary to the registrar for 14 years. She was a member of Westwood United Methodist Church for nearly 50 years and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. On February 11, 1939, she was united in marriage to Kermit Ames, who preceded her in death on May 15, 2007. Also preceding her in death are her parents; two brothers, Elmer and Archie Fuller; and two sisters, Mary Cargill and Ida Bell Hardy. Surviving are two children, Connie (Dean) Blanchard of Buffalo, WY and Bill Ames of Lansing; five grandchildren, Linda (Jack) Mohney, Laura (Vern) Fernandez, Beth (Mark) Kohler, Katie Ames and Tom Ames; and seven great-grandchildren, Rebecca, Samantha, Brianna, Kaleo, Kealoha, Cameron and John. Funeral services for Mrs. Ame! s will be at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 27th at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th Street, with Rev. Dr. Wayne A. Price, officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 PM until the time of services. Private interment will be in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
