Sr. Marie was born July 30, 1916 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Joseph and Brigid (Diaraghi) Taveggia. Sr. Marie was preceded in death by her parents and an identical twin sister. Sister Marie is survived by four nephews: Robert Park of Glendale, AZ; Charles Ponke of Eugene, OR; Albert Ponke of Summerfield, FL and Michael Travers of Eagle River, AK and the Congregation of Sisters of St. Joseph. Friends will be received at Nazareth Center after 4:30 PM on Tuesday, August 31, 2010. A Wake Service will be held Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM in the Holy Family Chapel where Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, September 1, 2010. Fr. Dave Adams Celebrant. Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph, P.O. Box 29, Nazareth, MI 49074.
