Passed away on August 23, 2010 at Borgess Medical Center. Maxine was born on March 21, 1933 In Kouts, IN the daughter of the late Thomas and Emma (Howe) Cheever. Maxine enjoyed crocheting, working in her flower garden and cooking and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, David E. Butler on May 10, 2001 and seven brothers and sisters. Maxine is survived by eleven children: Diana (Jim) Harding; Emma Harrell; Ellie DeHart; Denise (Jerry) Blackburn; Esther (Andy) Walters; W. Kevin (Jackie) Van Dusen; Arthur (Dottie) Van Dusen; Rhett Butler; David L. (Tracy) Butler; Craig Butler and Brian Butler; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Cora "Sally" McCuen of Illinois and several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at: PARCHMENT REDMOND Funeral Home 2300 East G. Ave. (269) 349-7735 Where Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 26, 2010 with Reverend John Westra of Holland, MI officiating. Interment will be in East Hickory Corners Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice.
