Age 71 Of Bradenton, FL Barbara was Promoted to Glory on February 27, 2008. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 4, 2008 at The Salvation Army, 5328 24th Street East, Bradenton, FL. For 67 years she lived in the Kalamazoo/Portage area where she raised her family. She loved to cook and garden and was a member of The Salvation Army in Kalamazoo and Bradenton, FL. Barbara was preceded in death by one daughter, Captain Geri Moore (Miller) in 1983; her husband, Samuel J. Hughson in 1993; her parents, Otto (1995) and Leatha (1998) Ellsworth; two brothers, Laurel (1940) and Theodore (1972); one sister, Joan Mays (2002). Surviving Barbara are her six children, Jeannie (John) Walker of Ludington, MI, Major Ronda (Abe) Tamayo of Hastings, NE, Michael (Melissa) Miller of Allegan, MI, Deb (Phil) Schoenwether of Bradenton, FL, Linda (Chuck) Vanderberg of Parchment, MI and John Miller of Kalamazoo. Also surviving are two step-sons, Samuel (Marsha) Hughson of Portage, Darrell (Debbie) of Kalamazoo; son-in-l! aw, Major Paul (Sue) Moore of Madison, WI; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements are being made for a memorial service and burial in Kalamazoo.
