She was born July 19, 1945 in Marks, Mississippi, the middle child of eleven to William and Johnnie (White) Davis. Mary enjoyed painting, crocheting and doing puzzles. Her favorite holiday, which she celebrated year round, was Christmas. Mary was a loving, caring and giving wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt and friend. She will be missed by all and the memories that she created in our hearts will live on forever. She is survived by her loving husband, Stan Root, Sr; four children, Stan Root, Jr., Rhonda Root, Tammy Klaiber and Charmin "Charlie" (Robert) Deskins; four grandchildren, Alexis Klaiber, Dannie Root, Austin Root and Melissa Klaiber; her mother, Johnnie Davis; five brothers; five sisters and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mary will be 11:00 AM on Monday at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Climax Chapel, 205 E. Maple Street, with Pastor Donald Barnes, officiating. Interm! ent will follow in Roof Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 4-7 PM on Sunday at the funeral home.
