She was born in Ohio, March of 1924, daughter of Frank and Irma (Aple) Stewart. A private family service will be held in Indiana this spring. Jeannette retired in 1985 after 16 years as curator in WMU Archives and Regional History Collections. Previously she was secretary in the Purdue University athletic office and worked in the school system in Ohio. Jeannette was a dedicated, hardworking wife (65 years) and mother, who loved family, wildflowers, gardening, birds, reading, traveling, and walks on the beaches of Sarasota Florida. One of her favorite stories was how her grandfather spoke with the Wright Brothers often as his butcher shop was very near their bicycle shop. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Fisher; and son, Thomas Fisher. Jeannette is survived by her three children, John R. Fisher, Carol Fisher, and Larry Fisher; four grandchildren, Anjie Perry, Aaron Fisher, Elizabeth Smith, Brian S! mith; cousin, Alice Louise Scot; niece, Kelly (Egger) Blake and Kelly's daughter Grace.
