Of Kalamazoo Died peacefully at Bronson Hospital on February 5, 2010 with his family by his side. Born December 16, 1938 in Flint, MI, son of Milton and Elizabeth Link (deceased). Bruce was married to Carol on August 23, 1958. He graduated from Michigan Tech in 1964 as a mechanical engineer. He was a sales engineer for the Trane Company for many years before becoming a partner with Zimmerman Plumbing and Heating. He was a past president of the Optimist Club and was very involved with KOHA. Bruce was also a member of the Y.M.C.A. where he enjoyed racquet ball and paddle ball. He made many friends there and he continued to go even when illness prevented him from playing sports. After Cancer in 1998, Bruce retired and turned his thoughts to adventures. One year after esophageal cancer surgery, Bruce climbed to the top of Mt. Kilimanjaro. In the next four years, he also climbed Mt. St. Helen and Pike's Peak. After lung surgery, Bruce decided he had enough of mountains and pursued a flatter challenge, kayaking. He kayaked solo 26 miles around Manhattan Island. His last Kayak trip was down the Mississippi River. Bruce enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren and summers on Gull Lake with his family and many friends. He loved crosswords, Sudoku puzzles and the stock market. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Surviving besides his wife, Carol, are two sons, Bob of Davison, MI and Brice of Burlington, WI; three grandchildren, Cody (Andrea) Link of Grand Rapids, MI, Jessica Link and Joshua Link of Kalamazoo; two brothers, Brig (Bonnie) Link of Kalamazoo and Bill (Fran) Link of Flint, MI and a sister, Cheryl (Don) Graves of Lexington, KY; several nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Bruce's memory to a charity of your choice. The family will host a meet and greet from 4 - 7 PM on Thursday, February 11 at t! he Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Memorial Chapel, 622 S.
