He was born in Brady Township on March 16, 1929 one of 13 children born to Roy and Mary Louella (Bunting) Homan. He attended country schools and was a lifetime resident of the Fulton area. Stan was a farmer, and more recently worked with his son in an excavating business. Stan was married to Donna Metty on July 11, 1948 in Athens. She died in 2006. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary in 2005; and by ten siblings, Harrison "Bogy" Homan, Sarah Cothran, Louise "Chum" Green, Cleo Minnis, Michael Homan, Virginia Pearl Francisco, Roy J. Homan, Evelyn Homan, Marian "Pete" Myers, and Billy Homan. Stan is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold and Patricia Homan of Vicksburg; six grandchildren, Ambra, Aaron, Angel, Sarah, Aimee, and Thomas; five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Bob Homan (Velma) of Vicksburg and Walter "Powder" Homan of Illinois; nieces and nephews; a brother-in-law, Duane Metty (Marilyn); good friends, Ward and Marcie Lawrence of Fulton; and his pet companions "Dog" and "Cat". The family will receive friends on Monday from 5 ! to 7 PM at the Eickhoff Funeral Home in Mendon. Funeral services will be 1 PM Tuesday at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Harrison, Pastor of Prairie Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Leonidas Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to either Rose Arbor Hospice, or a charity of one's choice.
