Marcia was born August 1, 1938 in Grand Rapids, MI, the youngest of four daughters born to Russell V. and Elouise (Culp) Skelton. She worked for Mead Paper Company for 27 years in the production department. On May 8, 1982, she married Theodore "Ted" Jackson, who preceded her in death on April 27, 2008 and whom she dearly missed. She was also preceded by her parents; and a daughter, Julie Taylor. Marcia was first and foremost dedicated to her family. She always put them ahead of everything else, especially her grand and great grandchildren. She loved playing Yahtzee, was a member of the Red Hat Society, the Dancing Divas, the Main Street Review and the Oasis Prayer group. She loved traveling and visiting Northern Michigan, especially the area around Bitley, MI, where she spent many happy times. Marcia is survived by her six children, Joe (Shirley) Jackson of Kalamazoo, Jerry (Christina) Jackson of Delton, Denise (Michael) Becker of Mendon, Kirk Liggett of Alabama, Lisa Brunden of Alabama, and Annette (Brian) Kelley of Vicksburg; 23 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Diane Buell of Vicksburg, Carol (Ken) Lacey of Portage and Patricia (Robert) Strong of Grand Junction; several nieces, nephews, and many cousins, including a special cousin, Jan Konkle. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Ave., with Pastor Philip Kok officiating. Burial will follow in For! t Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be directed to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, 1332 N. Halstead St., Suite 201, Chicago, IL 60642-2642.
