She was born January 30, 1922 in Kalamazoo, the daughter of Frank and Lena (Shook) Terrell. Evelynn was employed for many years at Abrams Mercantile in Paw Paw and later at the Kalamazoo Regional Psychiatric Hospital retiring in 1983. In 1940 she was united in marriage to Richard Brockway who predeceased her. In 1970 Evelynn was united in marriage to Harry "Bud" Hardenbrook. She and Harry ran the Bunny Farm on west 'ML' Avenue, were very active bowlers and she attended Grace Missionary Baptist Church. Harry preceded her in death in 2009. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Mendoza, in 2007. She is survived by her children Alan (Janette) Brockway and Judith (Royal) Haefner of Paw Paw; stepchildren, Tommy (Marie), Charles, Robert and James Hardenbrook all of Florida, Harry (Judy) Hardenbrook of Kentucky, and David (Nancy) Hardenbrook of Marcellus; 22 grandchildren,! 24 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews and special friend and caregiver Lillian Gibson of Kalamazoo. Family will receive friends Wednesday from 6-8 PM at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw, where services will be held Thursday at 2 PM Rev. Tom Abbott officiating. Burial will follow at Hill Cemetery, Lawrence. Memorial contributions may be directed to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
