Howard of Climax, Kalamazoo, MI but it isn't. Thought I'd share anyway for the other Howard family's in Kalamazoo. Newspaper in NY State Deruyter Gleaner, Thursday, Dec 7, 1899 IN Memoriam Sarah Howard, wife of the late John Hunt was born at Harford-Mills? NY Aug 1 1836. She was one of twelve children, only six of whom are now living; Thomas Howard of Cortland, Mrs. Mary Wilcox of Harford Mills, Richard Howard of Dryden, William Howard of McLean , Alfred Howard of North Greece and Henry Howard of Kalamazoo; Mich. In early womanhood she was married to Milan? Harrigton and they settled in their native town and here she became a worth member with her husband of the Christian church. During the civil war he went to take care of his brother in the hospital and contracted the fever and died though his brother recovered. On Dec 9 1866? she as married to John Hunt of DeRuyter and for thirty years they have labored and rejoiced together being tenderly loved by their friends and prospered by there Heavenly Father. For many years her health has been feeble but she hat the great privilate with her daughter and son in law, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Connell of careing for her husband and finally having him away to rest according to his request in the cemetery at Quaker Basin. Since his death she has been highly favored in visiting many of her relative and was on her way home when she was suddenly taken ill with pnuemonia at her nephews, DeWitt Howard, at Cortland and died Nov 28 1899. The funeral service was held Dec 1 at Harford Mills, where the friends and relatives gathered to look again upon the loved one and Rev. D? R? Swinney of DeRhufer? spoke comforting words from the text Heb 2:10 and the today was laid at rest in the family lot in the village cemetery beside her first husband.
