Virginia was born March 1, 1933 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was one of five children born to Emily and Verlin Buchanan. She attended South Side High School, graduating in 1951. On January 17, 1953, she married Richard Frecker, her "Hun" for the next 55 years. In the late 1950's they moved to Leonidas, Michigan and started a successful Dairy Farm, which they operated with their nine children (Rick and eight Maids 'a Milking), until their retirement in 1979. They then moved to Scotts, Michigan to enjoy retirement and spend time with their children, grandchildren and wonderful neighbors. Virginia was a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church in Mendon, Michigan where she had served on the Altar Society. She was a loyal supporter of the Leonidas Do Best 4-H Club where her children were members. Together Richard and Virginia took many trips with International Harvester groups where they would meet many fr! iends over the years. Virginia enjoyed traveling, gardening, weekly trips to Shipshewana, family reunions at Frecker Forest, and sewing blankets for her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Surviving are her husband, Richard Frecker; children, Linda (Adolph) Carrillo, Rose (Duane) Holtz, Sue (Paul) Olguin, Diane (Kim) Barnes, Connie (Shane) Clipfell, Mary Jane (Dave) Duke, Janet (Mike) Gibson, Pam (Mike) Kline, Rick (Eva) Frecker; brothers, Charlie (Anne) Buchanan, Dick (Teri) Buchanan, Jim (Jerilyn) Buchanan, Kevin (Kathy) Buchanan; 20 grandchildren, Philip, Emily, Matt, Mark, Travis, Ginger, Taylor, John, Lauren, Kelly, Kyle, Ashley, Shelby, Kirk, T.J., Elizabeth (Jake), Mitch, Nicole, Sunhee and Jinhee. Additionally she had several brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles. A memorial nass will be conducted on Saturday, May 31, 2008 at 11AM at the St. Edwards Catholic Church in Mendon, Michigan with Fa! ther James Vinh Le, officiating. Burial will take place following the service at the Mendon Cemetery. A gathering and dinner will follow at the Mendon High School. Friends may visit the family on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 5PM to 8PM at the Eickhoff Funeral Home Mendon, Michigan Rosary will begin at 8PM. Memorial contributions may be made to either your local 4-H Club, Borgess Hospice, St. Edwards Church, or the Climax Fire and Rescue.
