She was born December 24, 1910, the daughter of Willie and Sallie May. She was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Florkland, AL and attended Seventh Avenue Community Baptist in Columbus, OH. She was a member of the Eastern Stars. She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Spencer, Sr.; her parents, Rayford and Sallie May; sons, Percy Spencer and Willie Spencer; five sisters; daughter-in-law, Ruby Spencer; son-in-law, John Turnage. She is survived by son, Emmett (Lucy) Spencer, Jr. of Kalamazoo, MI; daughters, Lillie (George) Daniel and Mary Turnage, both of Kalamazoo, MI, Carzella (Sam) Isaac and Sallie Spencer, both of Forkland, AL, Sallie (Leo) Rice, of Columbus, OH; brother, Eddie May of Chicago, IL; 24 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Home Going Celebration will be held 1 PM Friday with a 12 noon family hour at The Gali! lee Baptist Church, Dr. J. Louis Felton, officiating. Arrangements by the Harper Funeral Home, 521 Douglas Avenue, 342-1000. Interment Riverside Cemetery.
