Age 90 Of Kalamazoo, MI Formerly of Goshen, IN Died Sunday, June 22, 2008 at Gloria's Place in Kalamazoo. She was born March 31, 1918 in Wyatt, IN to Emil and Edith (Bendit) Berger. On August 13, 1938 she was united in marriage to Dayton Shidler in Goshen, IN. He died July 14, 1946. Also preceded by her long time companion and friend, Stanley Piasecki in 1999. Marie was a retired receptionist for Dr. J.P. Turner and for many years was a member of the Women of the Moose and Elkhart County Medical Assistants. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Minnie Hardy, Edna Hershberger and Aline Haab, and four brothers, Albert, Paul, Harry and George Berger. She is survived by a daughter, Donna (Robert) Kaarlie, Allegan, MI; a sister-in-law, Bernice Berger of Goshen, IN and also her nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 PM Wednesday, June 25 at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home, 1911 South Main St., Goshen, IN and one hour prior to the service at Grace United Methodist Church, New Paris. Funeral at 11:00 AM, Thursday, June 2! 6, 2008. Burial in West Goshen Cemetery, Goshen, IN. Memorials may be directed to National Veterans Administration or to the American Heart Association.
