Of Vicksburg Evelyn passed away Tuesday morning, June 10, 2008, at Borgess Medical Center. She was born February 23, 1926 in Milwaukee, WI, the daughter of the late Herman and Marie (Hecht) Lange. Evelyn loved flowers and enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and canning, but most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her children and grandchildren. On January 15, 1946, she was united in marriage to Charles A. Schippers, who preceded her in death on May 30, 1992. Also preceding her in death were one sister, Margaret Seegert; and one brother, Harold Lange. Surviving are seven children, Jerry Schippers of Kalamazoo, Jim (Barbara) Schippers of Vicksburg, Chuck (Cheryl) Schippers of Castilian Springs, TN, Ken (Cindy) Schippers of Vicksburg, Kathy (Don) VanDerVelde of Grand Rapids, Randy (Colleen) Schippers of Vicksburg, and Linda Barker of Vicksburg; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joanie (Allen) Edwards of Hueytown, AL; and several nieces and nephews. Fun! eral services for Evelyn were held at 11:00 AM on Friday (today) at Langeland Family Funeral Homes, Portage Chapel, 411 E. Centre Avenue, with Rev. James Dyke officiating. Interment will follow in Vicksburg Cemetery.
