DeeDee passed away June 9, 2008 after being diagnosed with Leukemia 10 months ago. DeeDee passed away peacefully with her family at her side. Survived are her husband, Jeff; son, Jabe (future daughter-in-law, Brianna), all of Madison, Wisconsin. Daughter of George & Rosemary MacKenzie; great-aunt, "sister" Irenea of Chicago; sisters, Susan and husband David Dornan, Mary and her husband Tim Dunham; brothers, David, Dennis, Rick & Mike MacKenzie; sister-in-law, Sue & husband Newt Covault; nephews & nieces, Chris & wife Marie Dornan, Katie & husband Adam Clarke, Kimberly & Patrick Dunham, Eric & Paige MacKenzie, Amy & husband Barry Lafler, Matt Covault & wife Kristin; great-niece, Keegan Clarke; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. DeeDee was a very loving and truly devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt & friend. Never questioning or complaining about her condition. DeeDee provided comfort and strength to her loved ones ! through her attitude and humor during this difficult time. A memorial mass will be held on June 27, 2008 at St. Mary's Church (Kalamazoo) at 10:30 AM, followed by a luncheon at Bart Hall (next to the church) where family will receive friends immediately following mass for a celebration of DeeDee's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the March of Dimes or St. Mary's Church.
